Anacortes Stands Up is a grassroots political action group that builds on a long community tradition of political expression at 12^th Street and Commercial Avenue. Our cause is powerfully plain: We love democracy and we’re going to stop Donald Trump’s destruction of our Republic.

To that end, our small group is playing a vigorous supporting role on behalf of the boisterous, defiant crowds that have gathered organically at this historic intersection every Sunday and Wednesday at noon. Through a growing email list, we ring the bell, recruit new protesters, share information about other nearby and national events, and help true patriots keep their protest calendars straight.

Anacortes Stands Up is also working to address de-escalation, first aid needs, police relations, and overall public safety. Oh, we also pick up the litter! Our goal is to encourage peaceful, safe gatherings that leave everyone, including local businesses, feeling good.
